The Fairmont Zanzibar is actually located on Unguja which is Zanzibar's main Island.

The Farimont has around 100 rooms to give you a great choice of accomodation ranging from villas, cottages and deluxe rooms. You will find each room hidden in the welcoming shade of the beach forest and palm-covered paths.

As you would expect of a Fairmont hotel there is a generous selection of dining options. You can try the tradewinds restaurant will can cater for all palates. Then there is the Zama Lounge which takes its lead from Arabic/African food.

There is then the Nahodha Lounge for those small, essential snacks and refreshments throughout the day. Finally you try the Mchanga Poolside Bar for those water babies who don't want to leave the cool refreshing waters. If you prefer privacy then in-room dining is also available.

Well worth upgrading room to sea view or Deluxe villa. GM excellent. Limited options for HB clients at lunchtime unless you take the (£17pp) buffet - a bit excessive if you want light fare. Full Board might be a better option if supplement less than £15pppn as not many options to eat out.

Food was fairly good but repetative. It is an 'American' style resort in a nice location but does not give you an insight to the culture of the country.
